Saturn-Uranus Opposition
As it is in retrograde movement, on April 7th 2010 Saturn will temporarily leave Libra to go back to Virgo. On this occasion, it’ll form the fourth opposition with Uranus, located in Pisces, the penultimate of a series of five. The first three formed on the Virgo-Pisces axis in November 2008, February and September 2009, and the last one, the fifth, will form on the Aries-Libra axis, on July 26th 2010.

The opposition in April 2010 will complete on April 27th and the effects will be felt between April 7th and May 27th 2010. The configuration basically opposes the novelty to the old, experiments to tradition, independence to organized structure. It is the expression of a tough contradiction between two slow and powerful planets, with deep, lasting effects, and it can bring disorder, problems and instability.

Astrologically, the warning signals for restructuring in the domains needing them discretely appeared in September 2007, when Saturn entered Virgo. The effects became very visible in the summer-fall of 2008 and continued to manifest in 2009. In fact, the Saturn-Uranus opposition asks for reorganization, reformulation, rethinking or relocation of some systems, a new vision, and a new approach.

But restructuring is a difficult process, with spasms and disturbance. Thus, until it causes the wished-for reorganization, it’s accompanied by:
- At a macro level: political and administrative difficulties, institutional malfunctions, economical-financial problems, uncertainty, instability and a lot of troublesome situations.
- At a personal level: disorganization, the turning upside down of the value systems, lack of perseverance, inadvertencies, enmities or accidents.

The opposition in April 2010 will contribute to the victory of novelty and progress. During the last rounds of a difficult and long-lasting fight, the reforming Uranus will be given a hand by Jupiter, thus defeating the conservative Saturn.

Those who understood the message of the opposition right in 2008-2009 and have worked its way through will start to see the results. Those who haven’t done anything for it might undergo shocking, painful, maybe unexpected changes.

The configuration will have an impact on all of us, one way or another (see below), but it’s especially relevant for Virgo, Pisces, Gemini and Sagittarius.
