Retrograde Mars — December 20th 2009 – March 10th 2010:
If one observes the sky every night, they will notice how Mars will slow its movement, after which at one point it’ll stop, remain still for a while and then change its direction, slowly going backwards. This reversed movement is called retrograde movement and it’s a whim that Mars indulges itself in approximately every two years and two months. It goes backwards for 60-80 days and then it returns to its normal movement.

This time, the Red Planet will be retrograde in Leo, between December 20th, 2009 and March 10th, 2010.

The periods when Mars is retrograde are not highly thought of among astrologers. It’s believed that, because of the unusual movement, the star cannot manifest harmoniously and everything it represents is marred.

Therefore, the initiative, combativeness and dynamism can be put an end to, misdirected, seriously affected. The activity can be stopped or can evolve disorderly, and some projects might be rescheduled, reorganized or abandoned. The energy will be repressed, generating inner tension, frustrations, depressions, conflicts or irrational outbursts.

Even the sexual dynamics can be influenced, either by hyper irritability, or inhibition. Very often the effects are physical, too: disease, accidents, aggressiveness, violence. Only in the happiest cases, it can come down to over stimulation and stress.

Attention especially on behalf of those born in Leo and the star signs governed by Mars, namely Aries and Scorpio!

Keep in mind: whoever wants to buy a car, they’d better wait until Mars comes back to its straight movement.
